Acta Victoriana Launch Party!

Come out and celebrate the launch of the 2010-2011 edition of Acta! Tomorrow, Friday April 1st, from 4:30-7:30pm in the Cat’s Eye. Refreshments will be served, contributors will read from their work, and you can get your hands on a copy of the new journal!

Acta Victoriana and the Victoriad (Vic’s yearbook) are hosting a joint event! Come out to the Reading Room in Birge Carnegie on Friday November 26 from 4-6pm for our bake sale! Proceeds will be donated to Canadian Feed the Children.

Applications for the 2010-11 editorial board are open until September 30, 2010. Apply by e-mailing actavic@yahoo.ca with a brief explanation of why you are interested and what relevant experience you have.

This year’s submissions deadline will be December 31, 2010. Send in your poetry, prose and artwork anytime between now and then!

The 2009-2010 Acta Victoriana has now been released! The journals are available for free around Victoria College at E.J. Pratt library, Caffiends, Birge Carnegie, and Old Vic. They will also be available in the reading room in Hart House.

Applications for the 2010-2011 editor-in-chief . Deadline: March 28 2010. To apply: send a single page cover letter to actavic@yahoo.ca explaining experiences and information about yourself that you feel will make you a great editor. Be sure to include your vision for the future of Acta and how it will continue in the tradition of t he journal.

Acta Victoriana is now accepting submissions of literary and visual art. Deadline: Dec. 31 ’09.

Acta is now accepting Editorial Board applications for the 09/10 issue. Applications due by Oct. 30th. The board meets a few times during the year to make editorial and layout decisions. Be a part of the 131 years of literary tradition at Vic!

The 2008/2009 Acta Victoriana release party for the 130th anniversary issue will be held on October 6th at 7 o’clock in Caffiends in Old Vic (91 Charles St. W). Everyone is invited to take part in our open mic reading, as well as enjoy free tea and coffee and browse the pages of the new journal. Hope to see you there!

The new, 2008-09 issue of Acta Victoriana will be released in the Fall. Look for the release party, as well as editorial board application, in the next semester. Have a good summer!
